Today is the first business day for the newly elected leader of the Conservative Group, Cameron Rose. Councillor Rose represents the Southside/Newington Ward and has done since first being elected in 2007. On Friday he was elected leader of the political group of 11 Tory councillors which provides the main opposition to the Capital Coalition of 38 SNP and Labour councillors.
We spoke to him this morning when he had hardly had time to get his feet under the desk – in fact his desk was to be moved! The prospect of leading the Conservative group in opposition is not one that he finds daunting in any way as you will hear during our interview with him:-
