Edinburgh Central MSP Marco Biagi is urging local residents living near Haymarket Station to take the chance to find out what the station’s rebuild will mean for them.
Network Rail’s Edinburgh to Glasgow Improvement Programme has announced its plan to hold community drop in events to inform and engage with local residents.
Marco Biagi MSP said, “Haymarket Station is to be radically changed as part of the massive project to improve the rail links between Edinburgh and Glasgow. This will have an impact on the whole Haymarket area.
“I’m very encouraged that Network Rail is making every effort to keep their neighbours informed. The drop-in events are an important chance to clear up any uncertainties for the local community, many of whom may be affected by construction and wider changes. I’d encourage anyone with thoughts or concern to pop along and speak to the project leaders.”
The first of the upcoming events will take place this Wednesday 16 November 2011 at St George West Church on Shandwick Place between 2pm and 5.30pm.
