Joe McElderry today announces a change to his touring schedule due to a royal appointment. The 20-year-old singer has been asked to perform for Her Majesty The Queen at the annual Festival of Remembrance at The Royal Albert Hall on 12th November. Joe’s deep affinity with the service charities and his desire to show his support by taking part in this event has led him to make the difficult decision of cancelling his forthcoming show at the Festival Theatre, Edinburgh which falls on the same day. The Festival Theatre tell us that it has proved impossible to reschedule this show so anyone with tickets should ask for a refund.
Former Hibernian FC icon Russell Latapy is in training with Edinburgh City Football Club.
Ex-Trinidad and Tobago midfielder, Latapy, trained with the Meadowbank outfit last night and The Reporter understands the player is set to appear at their Scottish Cup tie with Irvine Meadow on Saturday, with a view to signing a contract with the capital side. Latapy also had spells at Rangers and Falkirk and appeared in the 2006 World Cup in Germany. Ross Winton will have the full story soon.
Edinburgh Cake Ladies are featured in Scotland on Sunday. Peter Ross met them at Loudons where they all arrived with their own home-baked cakes. None of those cupcakes though….
