The Board for the Centre for The Moving Image (CMI) has announced the appointment of Ken Hay as Interim Chief Executive for the organisation with immediate effect.

 

Leslie Hills, Chair of the CMI Board, welcomed the appointment and added:-

 

‘Ken Hay brings excellent, long-standing expertise as Chief Executive and has specialist knowledge of the screen industries. His skills will be invaluable in ensuring that Chris Fujiwara, our new Artistic Director is given every support to create a wonderful Edinburgh International Film Festival 2012.’

 

The appointment is on an interim basis.  Recruitment for a permanent position will begin immediately.

 

Ken Hay, who has started work with the CMI this week, was most recently Chief Executive of Scottish Screen, successfully leading the organisation until Creative Scotland was established. He has extensive experience of working in the screen and creative industries, working across the UK and internationally.

 

Ken Hay stated:

 

‘It’s a great honour to be stepping in to assist the Board of the CMI at this time.  I’m very much looking forward to working with Chris Fujiwara and the rest of the team in preparing the ground for a successful Festival in 2012.”
