The Lindsay family has a long association with Edzell Castle. Join the Historic Saltire Society on Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th August from 12:00 noon until 4:00pm, as they return to the 15th century and depict the period when the castle was rebuilt in stone.
Enjoy meeting the craftsmen and trades people who would have been involved in the project and experience typical daily medieval life.
Gareth Cheeseman, Events Manager, Historic Scotland said: “This is a great day out for all the family. Come along and get a taste of our fascinating medieval history and heritage. You can witness the planning of a medieval feast, watch a knight get prepared for battle, find out about his weapons and discover what life was like in a castle for a lady.

The beauty of Edzell Castle was a statement of the prestige of its owners, the Lindsays. It has a stylised walled garden, created in 1604. Resplendent with heraldic sculptures and carved panels, the architectural framework surrounding the garden is unique in Britain. The garden also includes walled flower and nesting boxes and a delightful summer house.
