ScotRail has announced it is adding extra seats ahead of two concerts by American country artist, Luke Combs, at Murrayfield this weekend.
Grammy nominee Combs will perform his “My Kinda Saturday Night Tour” at Murrayfield on 24 and 25 July.
To support customers travelling to and from the gigs, ScotRail will have extra carriages to services on routes in and out of Edinburgh over the two days, including Aberdeen, Dundee, the Borders, and Fife.
The rail operator has advised fans travelling to the stadium to use Haymarket station.
ScotRail implemented a £10 minimum rail charge for those who do not pre-book tickets earlier in July in an attempt to prevent fare dodging.
Queuing systems will be in place at Haymarket station after the concerts to help customers board trains, with the operator urging fans to “make their way to the station as soon as they can.”
It added: “Due to a recent fire on Princes Street, a part of the street remains closed. As a result, customers who normally travel to Waverley and continue by foot or tram to Murrayfield will be redirected.
“Journeys will take longer than normal, so please plan ahead, and consider using Haymarket station instead.”
Phil Campbell, ScotRail customer operations director, said: “We’re looking forward to helping fans travel to and from Edinburgh for an unforgettable couple of nights at Scottish Gas Murrayfield.
“Trains on key routes in and out of the capital will have additional carriages and we’re asking customers to plan ahead, ensure they have their train tickets before they get on the train, and allow more time for their journey.”
“Haymarket is a short walk or tram ride from the stadium and the usual queuing systems will be in place after the concerts to help everyone get home safely.”
