Ahead of the Scotland v France match at Scottish Gas Murrayfield in the Guinness Six Nations on Saturday ScotRail is preparing for more customers than usual.
A large crowd is expected to travel to the capital for the match which kicks off at 2.10pm on 7 March.
Fans are being encouraged to plan ahead and take the train to Edinburgh. ScotRail will run longer trains on key routes into and out of Edinburgh, where possible, helping provide additional capacity before and after the game.
Haymarket is the closest station to Scottish Gas Murrayfield and is within easy walking distance of the stadium, as well as being served by tram services.
Following the final whistle, customers travelling home by rail should head to Haymarket station.
A queuing system will be in place on Haymarket Terrace to help control the flow of people safely and efficiently, with customers directed to the correct platform for their service.
Supporters are advised to purchase return tickets in advance via the ScotRail app, online, at ticket offices, or from self-service ticket machines.
ScotRail will have additional staff on hand throughout the day to provide information and assistance, helping customers enjoy a smooth journey as part of the matchday experience.

“We’re adding extra carriages to trains on key routes and putting plans in place at Haymarket to manage the post-match crowds safely. Our priority is to keep customers moving and make sure everyone can travel with confidence.
“Taking the train removes the hassle of traffic and parking, and it’s the most straightforward way to get close to the stadium and enjoy the occasion from start to finish.”
