Dave McAuley will wear two hats when he runs and also competes in a three-day festival of coarse fishing next month.
Interest is encouraging in the special event sponsored by Tackle Guru at Tarbolton Fishery near Mauchline in Ayrshire from May 23 to 25.
It’s a £150 entry which includes all pools and day tickets and there will be cash and tackle prizes for the top five overall and the top two each day.
The winner will receive £500 and runner-up £400 with the third-placed angler pocketing £300, the fourth £200 and fifth £100.
In the event of a tie, the total weight will decide the final result.
All three days will be subject to open draws which will be held at 9am and fishing is from 11am to 4pm.
He confirmed there will be a maximum of 25 anglers and McAuley expects some of his international fishing colleagues to be in the field.
Any form of fishing from pole to feeder can be used in the event and the lake holds a number of species of fish including ide, roach and rudd.
McAuley (pictured) said the match venue is only 25 miles from the centre of Glasgow and easily accessible via the M77 and he added: “I’m trying to encourage more anglers into match fishing.”
