Livingston boss David Martindale has added another new face to his squad with the signing of Alex Tamm.
The Estonian striker joins on loan until the end of the season from Slovenian side Ljubljana and the club website says he is available for selection for Saturday’s home clash with fellow-strugglers Kilmarnock.
This is, of course, subject to international transfer clearance and Scottish Football Association approval.
The 24-year-old started his career in his homeland where he built a reputation as a goalscorer.
He moved to Ljubljana in January last year and has been capped for his country 19 times.
The addition is a boost ahead of the crunch clash with Kilmarnock (15.00) at The Home of the Set Fare Arena as the Ayrshire side have only earned a point from their last five games in the William Hill Premiership.
The Ayrshire side have 13 points from 21 games, scoring 19 goals and conceding 38.
Livingston are four points adrift but have a game in hand against St Mirren, a match postponed in midweek because of the recent cold snap.
Martindale’s men have scored 20 goals and let in 40, including the 1-0 defeat at pace-setting Hearts last Saturday.
Livingston have also lost four of their last five and drawn the other, but The Lions will take heart from their second-hand performance at Tynecastle when they pushed the leaders hard.
So, what is the form line ahead of what many are calling a six-pointer at the foot of the table?
Kilmarnock have won three of the matches between the clubs with two draws and new manager Neil McCann and his assistant Billy Dodds have had time this week to their ideas across.
McCann has an understanding of what is required to compete at the highest level of Scottish football and Killie’s directors have gone on record as saying how important the appointment is.
They believe the former Hearts and Rangers player can keep them in the top flight. Time will tell.
