John Hood is the headline attraction at the second winter fly tying night organised by the Edinburgh Angling Centre.
The Veniard professional has been confirmed for Thursday, December 18 and the event at Unit E, Granton Retail Park, 65 West Harbour Road, Edinburgh EH15 1PW is from 4pm to 8pm. This is a free session and all are invited.
Ian Campbell, the shop’s retail manager, said: “John will demonstrate a host of techniques and patterns throughout the evening, with a focus on scale and proportion, a crucial element of fly tying and something newcomers often struggle with.
“We’ll also have a selection of vices and materials set out for anyone who fancies sitting down to tie so, whether you’re looking to tie your first fly, or are a more experienced tier who may want to bring their own gear along and sit down among peers, everyone is welcome.”
Free refreshments will also be provided and Campbell added: “We would encourage anyone interested to pop along and perhaps learn a thing or two.”
