Some of Scotland’s leading sea anglers will be casting a line at Newhaven Breakwater on Saturday, January 24, as national selectors begin their task of assembling a team for the up-coming Home International.
This is the first pegged open for 2026 organised by the Scottish Federation of Sea Anglers (SFSA) and registration is from 14.30 to 14.45 at EH6 6PG.
Fishing is from 16.00 to 20.00 and contact Chris Horn on 07872 944807 to book. He stresses this is a pre-book only event and sponsors at Tronixpro.
Entry is £20 with juniors £5 and SFSA rules apply.
Meanwhile, bosses of Scotland’s ladies team have called on female anglers to join them.
Kevin Lewis, the team manager, has advertised on social media and he is looking towards naming a team for the Home Nations Shore Angling Championships in Kent from June 30 to July 3.

Finally, organisers of the Edinburgh New Year Shore League urge anglers to pre-book for the second match in the series on Friday, January 23, with the venue of Western Harbour Breakwater EH6 6PA.
Registration is from 6pm to 6.15pm and fishing from 7pm to 10pm and nearly 20 have so far asked for a peg in the match sponsored by the Edinburgh Angling Centre, the Fishing Megastore and Cox & Rawle.
