Commsworld has strengthened its long-standing support for Boroughmuir Rugby by renewing two key sponsorship deals.

The telecoms company, headquartered in Edinburgh, is backing Boroughmuir’s Arnold Clark Men’s National League 1 first team for a further year, as well as committing to two more years supporting their hugely successful Boroughmuir Banshees girls’ squads.

The latest agreements sit alongside Commsworld’s existing sponsorship of the Boroughmuir Rugby Academy, which has a further two years to run.

Together, they show the company’s decades-long commitment to supporting rugby at grassroots level at the club – from developing young players and growing the ever-expanding girls’ game through to the senior first team.

The partnership also reflects the company’s long-held belief in supporting the communities in and around the capital, where it has been based since it was founded in Edinburgh over 30 years ago.

This includes using the club as a welcoming community space so people can come together, stay active and connected, and build relationships.

Local groups and initiatives who use Boroughmuir throughout the year range from dementia coffee mornings and ‘Strong and Steady’ classes for older members of the community, to knitting groups, antenatal classes, and children’s dance lessons.

Next month, Commsworld will be hosting a Connected Communities event for members, creating an opportunity to explore how digital connectivity can improve lives and bring people together.

Melony Buchanan, Chief Revenue Officer of Commsworld, said: “We are proud of our long association with Boroughmuir Rugby and are delighted to renew and extend our support for the club – its first team, the Banshees and the academy.

“This is a club with deep roots in its community, and that makes it a very natural partnership for Commsworld. Our support stretches back many years and we are particularly proud that we can play a part in helping create opportunities for young people to get involved in rugby, develop their skills and enjoy being part of a team.

“Boroughmuir is about much more than what happens on the pitch. That aligns strongly with our own commitment to supporting communities and organisations in the areas where we live and work.”

Greg Cannie, Boroughmuir Rugby Business Development Manager, said: “Commsworld has been a fantastic supporter of Boroughmuir Rugby and we’re extremely pleased to see that relationship continue with this new sponsorship deal for the first team and the Banshees.

“Having a partner prepared to support different parts of the club is hugely valuable to us. Their backing helps us continue to develop rugby across the club and provide opportunities for players at different stages of their journey as well as members.”
