A stready stream of curious anglers made their way to the Edinburgh Angling Centre to test the new set of Trak rods, and the reaction was positive.
A number were sold during the two days of the show and company representatives, who have showcased the new range at events throughout North America and Europe, were encouraged by sales.
The Swedish-based company set out to raise the bar and, after months of testing and refinement in wild environments, they believe they have created a range of fly rods which deliver performance far beyond their price point.
Each LOOP Trak rod features an engineered reel seat with robust carbon insert, a contoured Portuguese cork handle for comfortable handling and longevity, and high-quality rings with low-friction stripper guides for efficient casting.
The range is initially available in eight single-hand and three double-hand models and Alastair Parkin, the company’s brand and content manager, who once fished The Almond with Cramond Angling Club, confirmed that prices start at £270.
Parkin said: “We worked hard to keep the weight down, the balance right and the action crisp, so it loads smoothly and sends a tight controlled loop exactly where you want it to go.
“From beginner to expert, and no matter the species or application, you don’t need to settle for ordinary ever again.”
