Terry Chalmers from Balbeggie Angling Club proudly shows a 5lb 6oz trout, one of more than 120 fish caught at Linlithgow Loch last week in cloud and bright sunshine with a prevailing, cold east wind.
A total of 58 rods were out with returns showing that 55 fish were kept and 69 release and floating, midge-tip and sink-tip lines were the most productive with buzzers, dries, cormorants, muskins, crunchers, FABs and various nymphs producing.
Dundee West End AC with seven anglers kept 22 fish and released six while Nigel Muckle and partner returned 8 trout.
Mr Anderson kept one trout for 2¾lb but he also returned nine fish and Mr Gibson and partner were out for 4 hours kept 2 fish for 5 lbs and released 3.
Jimmy Russell out with Gavin Dunn released seven fish and Mark Lawton with Freddie Paddon released six between them.
A reminder that Linlithgow Loch is restocked regularly and boats are available for either a full-day or four-hour session. Booking is recommended to avoid disappointment. Call 01506 671753 or book online.

Meanwhile, Bass Rock Shore Angling League invite newcomers to join their Summer Series. The next leg is on the walkway behind the old power station at Cockenzie on Wednesday, May 20.
Anglers are advised to park on the main road and follow the patch to the bridge. Registration is from 6pm to 6.30pm and fishing is from 7pm to 10pm.
This is a catch and measure match with a minimum of 18cm. Entry is £10.
Aquamarine Charters have spaces this weekend, May 21 and 22, with the boat leaving Eyemouth at 7.45 and returning at 2pm. Skipper Derek Anderson has been forced to increase his price to £55 per person.
