The Fastmail Pairs, one of Britain’s biggest fly fishing competitions, has big prizes and Glencorse near Penicuik hosts two heats, one in April and another in mid-July.
Kenny Knox, owner of Glencorse, one of Scotland’s leading waters, has revealed that there is only one boat still available for the second heat on Sunday, July 19.
However, six boats are still on offer for the first event on Sunday, April 26.
The format is simple, catch eight fish in the fastest time to qualify for the final later this year.
And top anglers from Scotland and south of the Border are in the field.
The names include Jock Kettles from Bonnyrigg and Mike Connet from Edinburgh who know the water in The Pentland Hills well.
Indeed, they won both Glencorse heats last year, coming back to the harbour in less than 90 minutes in one.
The entry fee is £50 and this will get you a goodie bag each supplied by Wychwood and Fastmail.
See the Fastmail Pairs portal on Facebook for contact details of the organiser, Phil Dixon, or get in touch with Kenny Knox at Glencorse who can pass your details on.
