According to The City of Edinburgh Council, all priority routes across the city were gritted overnight prior to the heavy snowfall this morning. Snowploughs have been out since this morning to clear the snow.
But this was not quite enough to avoid Lothian Buses having to temporarily halt all bus services – which clearly had difficulty all over the city in getting around. Lothian are alerting their passengers with updates on X.
Our operations team is currently assessing bus routes that have been impacted by today's adverse weather conditions.

Transport and Environment Convener, Councillor Stephen Jenkinson said: “Our teams have been gritting roads throughout the past week and did so again prior to heavy snowfall in the city this morning.
“Ploughs have been clearing the snow and we’ll continue to work alongside Lothian Buses and Police Scotland to ensure our roads are made safe and bus services can resume as soon as possible.
“I’d like to thank all colleagues who have been working hard in these difficult conditions.”
It was fun for the dogs though…
And in the city centre it was a bleak picture…
