The third bi-annual Women in Beer Festival begins next week. It is a way of shining a spotlight on the women involved in the beer industry as well as those who enjoy the product.
Women brewers from eight different breweries will be featured at the festival on a Women in Beer pub crawl, and four special beers are to be launched.
The launch party is on Wednesday 23 October at Cold Town House with women brewers from Canterbury’s Hand Brew Co. and Edinburgh’s own Cold Town Beer at a Meet the Brewer event. The special festival beers include Hawaiian Topic – a coconut porter brewed in house with head brewer Halyey Ransome.
The launch evening will close with the sun soaked sound of Edinburgh-based hip-hop and R&B singer-songwriter, Wendy McAuslan.

We want to create role models for women who wouldn’t have thought beer was for them. We do this by bringing our talented guests to our events and seminars and giving women the opportunity to connect. And this year’s addition of Chaser Venues will help us share the word even louder.”
