Aidan Denholm has joined Premiership rivals Ross County on loan from Hearts for this season.

The 20-year-old (pictured) has developed his game in the Hearts Academy and made 14 appearances for the Edinburgh combine in the Premiership last term.
He also appeared in the UEFA Europa Conference League qualifiers and County manager, Don Cowie, said: “He joins us with Premiership and European experience yet is still at a young age.
He gives us real competition in the central midfield area and we thanks Hearts for their assistance in getting this done.”
Meanwhile, the Tynecastle team head south for a challenge match with Fleetwood Town on Saturday (kick-off 3pm) boosted by news that Calem Nieuwnehof’s latest injury setback is not as series as initially thought.

The club expect the Aussie midfielder to be back in training next month.

And the Jambos could be on the verge of recruiting midfielder Malachi Boateng from Crystal Palace. The 22-year-old spent last season on loan at Dundee.

Jamie McDonald has returned to Hearts on a one-year deal, 12 years after winning a Scottish Cup medal with the Jambos. The 38-year-old goalkeeper will help develop players in the club’s B team.

Finally, Toby Sibbick has moved to Wigan Athletic for an undisclosed fee, the 25-year-old having signed a two-year contract with the English League one club.
