Jo Mowat has been a councillor for the best part of two decades and now represents the City Centre Ward.

She retained her seat in the 2022 local government elections when the party suffered losses, and is an active ward councillor engaging with local residents on a variety of issues.

She said that being a councillor is probably an advantage when standing in an election. She said that part of the ward is in her patch and she has lived in the constituency for 30 years.

She said: “Policies that the Conservatives as a party are offering are getting the basics right, focusing on people’s priorities – and those are roads, education the health service, recruiting extra GPs to fix the waiting list and bringing Scotland’s education back to the world class education that it was.”
