Hamilton Academical have signed former Hibs striker Oli Shaw from English League One side, Barnsley FC on a three-year deal subject to international clearance.
The 26-year-old striker joins the Accies after spending last season on loan to Motherwell FC where he made 19 appearances for the club, finishing in 8th place.
Coming through the Hibernian FC academy, Shaw broke into the first team at just 17 years old and went on to make 65 appearances for the club scoring 12 goals.
He has also had spells at Ross County, Barnsley, Motherwell & most notably Kilmarnock where he won the Scottish Championship, scoring 14 goals.
Speaking on his latest summer signing, John Rankin said: “It’s great to get Oli into the club, I’ve been after him for a while now so it feels great to get him signed on.
“He’s a clinical striker with plenty experience in Scotland so he adds terrific depth & firepower to the front line.”
John graduated from Telford College in 2010 with an HNC in Practical Journalism and since then he worked for the North Edinburgh News, The Southern Reporter, the Irish News Review and The Edinburgh Reporter. In addition he has been published in the Edinburgh Evening News and the Hibernian FC Programme.
