Each year the length of Abercromby Place outside The Royal Scots Club is closed for a few hours to allow a band from The Royal Regiment of Scotland to perform a Beating Retreat.

This year it was the turn of the Lowland Band and the Depute Lord Provost, Lezley Marion Cameron took the salute.

The programme of music included: the quick marches Pentland Hills and 75th Farewell to Gibraltar, the band’s feature Yes Sir, I Can Boogie, the lament Sleep, Dearie, Sleep and Scotland the Brave.
