Edinburgh Northern rugby club’s over-35 team, known as “The Gentlemen of Northern” recently entertained a visiting Irish club from Clonakilty, West Cork, at Inverleith Park.

Edinburgh Northern and Clonakilty enjoyed a rugby duel in the sun.

Scores finished level at 26-26 and next venture for “The Gents” is a trip to Milan in September where they will be the first foreign club to participate in the hosts age group tournament.

Meanwhile, Northern, who describe themselves on social media as “Edinburgh’s most sociable rugby club” have made several backroom changes following their recent AGM.

Stepping up to the presidency is John Leatham who replaces Neil Hardman after a two year stint.

Taking over from John as vice president will be Dom Harrison, a former club captain.
