Auld Reekie Roller Derby’s All Stars have set sights on climbing European rankings – starting with victory in a first-ever clash against Norfolk Broads, from Norwich, at Dalkeith Community Campus on Saturday 30 March (5pm).

Captain Caitlin O’Carroll is confident, and said: “We have refined our training focuses and intensity for this season with a view to climbing the European rankings and can’t wait to put all the amazing things our 2024 roster have been working on over the last few months into action.” 

The event is a double-header with the second game seeing challenger teams from friendly rivals Auld Reekie and Glasgow Roller Derby vying for victory.

Alongside the main event in what is the premier Edinburgh team’s 15th season skating fans can expect the usual interval games and raffles as well as local vendors and a chance to buy team merchandise.

Also, the event will seek to raise money for the UN’s Crisis Relief Fund.

A spokesperson for Auld Reekie said: “The United Nations and humanitarian partners are delivering life-saving assistance. Donations will go to the Occupied Palestinian Territory Humanitarian Fund – one of the quickest and most effective ways to support urgent relief on the ground.”
