A couple of hundred people gathered at the Wellington Statue at the east end of Princes Street on Saturday afternoon. This has become the temporary home of protest during the Christmas festivities in Edinburgh and police and marshals were on hand to ensure the safety of pedestrians.
The protesters continue to call for a stop to attacks on Gaza and they demand a ceasefire.
Next week a protest will be held at The Mound at 2pm convened by the Edinburgh Genocide Emergency Committee and promoted by the Scottish Palestinian Solidarity Campaign.
