Hole in the finances at Bross Bagels
Despite claims that the company was trading as normal it is now clear after a joint investigation by The Edinburgh Reporter and The Edinburgh Guardian that the Edinburgh-based bagel company is in liquidation with debts of around £1.2 million.

Court of Session live
The petition by Scottish Ministers for Judicial Review of the Gender Reform (Scotland) Bill has been lodged at the Court of Session. A procedural hearing will be heard on Wednesday and you can watch the proceedings online. Two hours has been set aside although the substantive hearing will be heard in September.
This comes after the Scottish Government passed the bill into legislation but it was blocked by the UK Government using the S.35 procedure for the first time.
Design a statue for Edinburgh Park
Edinburgh Park and its owner is well known as a patron of the arts.
Now they are looking for emerging artists to propose contemporary sculpture commissions to be placed in Edinburgh Park.
A spokesperson said: “This is the first year of the award and it is open to visual artists who are either from Scotland or based in Scotland. This opportunity is open to artists who are in the final year of their BA or studying a Masters, or who have graduated in the last five years. We will work with universities across Scotland to engage their students and graduates and also with artist’s studio groups across the country.”

Edinburgh World Heritage
The body charged with looking after the conservation of the two World Heritage sites in the city, Edinburgh World Heritage (EWH) has put out a plea for funds from the public, saying that their core income has decreased dramatically and that without additional income their work is not sustainable.
The organisation is hoping to raise £20,000 by the end of September.
An email from EWH said: “We’re writing to ask you to help us by giving a donation today to ensure that:
· The physical conservation of our city continues in these challenging times of rising costs for both skilled workers and appropriate materials
· Inclusive heritage projects continue to develop cohesive communities, with a strong sense of belonging to this special city
· Actions to mitigate the impacts of climate change on Edinburgh are identified
· The city’s World Heritage Site status is sustained, and is a positive benefit to those who live, work and study in, and visit Edinburgh
