Edinburgh Police are appealing for the help of the public to trace a 78-year-old man reported missing from Oxgangs who has travelled to Aberdeen.
Thomas Phillips left his home in Oxgangs Park and took a bus to Aberdeen where he was seen at the bus station in Guild Street around 1.30pm on Tuesday, 24 May. He may have gone towards the railway station looking for a taxi.
He is described as around 5ft 2ins, of slim build, with grey, balding hair. He usually wears glasses and has a swallow and thistle tattoos on both arms. It is not known what he is wearing but could be a blue jacket and black jeans.
Inspector Keith Scott said: “We are becoming increasingly concerned about Thomas. He has dementia and could possibly become disorientated. He also walks with a hunch and uses a walking stick and I would urge anyone who may have seen him or knows where he is to get in touch.
“We know he took a bus to Aberdeen so I am urging anyone who may have seen him at the bus station to get in touch, particularly taxi drivers.
“If you can help please contact us on 101, quoting reference number 1395 of Tuesday, 24 May, or speak to any police officer.”
