Police are continuing searches and enquiries, and re-appealing for the assistance of the public in tracing 15 year-old Cameron Notman, who is missing from his home in Airdrie and has links to the capital.

Cameron was last seen by his family as he left his home in Howletnest Road, Craigneuk, Airdrie around 5.15pm on Wednesday, 9 December.  He did not say where he was heading to, and he has not returned home.

He is described as white, 5ft 10ins in height and of slim build with short, brown hair.  When he was last seen he was wearing grey jogging trousers, a grey hooded top and Nike trainers.

Chief Inspector Gillian Norrie said: “Cameron has been feeling low lately and his family and police are very concerned for his wellbeing and safety.  He has never went missing before and it is extremely out of character for him not to keep in contact with his family.

“Cameron frequents the Craigneuk and Petersburn areas of Airdrie and officers have been carrying out enquiries and searches for him and are being assisted by specialist search advisors.  They have been speaking to people in the local area and gathering and studying CCTV footage to gain more detail on where he may have went.

“Cameron has previously visited Edinburgh and he has family in the Northumberland area, so we are liaising with British Transport Police and police colleagues in those areas to carry out further enquiries.

“I would urge anyone who has seen Cameron, or anyone may have any information on his whereabouts, or indeed Cameron himself if he sees this appeal to contact Coatbridge Police Office through 101 quoting reference number 3542 of 9 December.”
