Scott Allan has been ruled out of Sunday’s match at Easter Road against Rangers and the following Sunday’s trip to Celtic Park due to a ‘health issue’.
The influential midfielder has played in five of Hibs’ seven Premiership games this season, and started the campaign in style with an assist in Martin Boyle’s winning goal against Kilmarnock.
He was left out of the following game at the Tony Macaroni Arena but has returned to the side as they climbed to second place in the table.
His absence coupled with that of Jamie Murphy who will also miss out as he is not permitted to face parent club Rangers could allow new signing Stephen McGinn a place in the squad against the ‘Old Firm.’
Speaking at today’s pre-match press conference Head Coach jack Ross said: “ Scott Allan has a health issue at the moment that we are investigating further, so he’ll be out for the upcoming games.
“It’s a health issue that’s a private and confidential matter, so if and when we have more understanding of it we’ll be prepared to comment, but at the moment it rules him out for Sunday and the immediate games coming up after.”
