A 17-year-old youth been sentenced for serious sexual assaults committed against three girls in West Lothian.
At the High Court in Glasgow earlier today the teenager was sentenced to five years in prison following his conviction on Thursday, 14 May. He has also been placed on the sex offenders register for life
The youth pled guilty to the serious sexual assault of all three girls in incidents which occurred between July 1, 2015 and 20 December, 2019 in Livingston, Linlithgow and Bathgate. One incident occurred whilst he was on bail.
All three victims were underage when the assaults happened and were aged between thirteen and fifteen years old.
Detective Constable Lynn Morrison of West Lothian Public Protection Unit said: “We welcome this sentencing today of this teenager whose actions terrified and distressed his victims. I would like to thank the girls for their courage in coming forward and for their continued support throughout our enquiries and I hope that the sentencing will offer them some comfort as they look to move forward with their lives.
