Chessel’s, the newly launched casual dining restaurant at 240 Canongate, plans a Business Networking Awareness Event for local businesses in the Royal Mile and Canongate this Friday 20 March 2020 between 12.30 and 2pm.

Formerly the Mexican eatery, Pancho Villas, Chessel’s has been created by experienced restaurateur Ruori Stewart who also owns The Apartment in Bruntsfield, which this year celebrates 20 years of operation under his guidance.

“We’re keen to show off this new restaurant which offers 40 covers and has a heated portico outside,” said Ruori, who has named his new restaurant after the historic courtyard behind the restaurant. “Our new menus have plenty of crowd pleasing favourites, alongside vegan and vegetarian options too.”

“The idea behind this small event is to connect with local businesses and potential corporate customers,” added Ruori. “We can offer them a bespoke catering service for a private dinner or event, dedicating the upper dining area of the restaurant to them.”

Ruori concluded: “We look forward to seeing anyone who would like to come along on Friday. We’re very excited to be here in the Canongate – it’s a fantastic, historic location with plenty of passing trade – Chessel’s is casual and welcoming with something for everyone.”

Chessel’s new lunch menu offers one course at £9.50, two at £15 and three for £19, with dinner at £12 for one course, two for £17 and three at £22. Highlights include smoked haddock chowder, buttermilk chicken skewers, flat iron steak, burgers, goats cheese salad, poached fruit bowl, and treacle tart.
