Edinburgh bar Stramash has been nominated in three categories in the prestigious Scottish Entertainment & Hospitality Awards 2020.
The city’s largest live music venue is up for Best Music/Entertainment Venue, Best Late Night Venue and Best Sports Bar.
The Cowgate nightspot hosts free live music seven days a week, and also boasts the Capital’s biggest TV screen for showing live sports throughout the year.
Stramash has previously been nominated for Best Late Night Venue and general manager Steven Cosans is hoping to go one better this year.
“It’s great that the hard work of so many people is being recognised in this way,” he said. “These awards are highly thought of in the industry and we’re delighted to be nominated in three categories, especially as it is the public who have been voting for their favourite places.”
Another member of the Old Town Pub Co stable is also hoping for success, The Globe Bar having been nominated for Best Pub Quiz for the first time.
“Our quiz is well known within the Edinburgh community,” said Globe manager Chris Skene. “We are very grateful to those people who voted us into the grand final.”
Staged each year, the Scottish Entertainment & Hospitality Awards attracts over 5,000 businesses competing for various honours as voted for by the general public.
Voting opened at the start of January with this year’s winners being announced at the grand final in Glasgow’s Merchant Square on 29 March 2020.
