The Festival of Diwali has begun in Edinburgh.
Diwali takes place over the next three days in Edinburgh’s Princes Street Gardens. Tonight The Lord Provost Frank Ross, Mr Mohindra Dhall MBE Organiser of Edinburgh Diwali, Hitesh Jogenderial Rajpal Consul General India in Edinburgh and Mr Edward Tsan Founder of the Association of Chinese Entrepreneurs in Scotland gathered in Princes Street Gardens to watch the lanterns as they were switched on.
The Lightopia Lanterns will be lit each evening until Friday in Castle Street from 5.00pm. On Saturday there will be a parade from the City Chambers to Princes Street Gardens. Read more here.
