Spoken word theatre company – Poetry Circus – and The Jennifer Ewan Band have joined forces once again to create a unique theatrical cabaret for their Summer of Love Tour.

Summer of Love will be at the Traverse Theatre, Edinburgh, on 20 July 2019 and is a non-stop cabaret-style assault of music and performance poetry; a badass medley of unsurpassable Cajun Blues (with a definite Scottish burr) paired with dramatic spoken word from some of the most outstanding verbal performance artistes in Britain.

Coupled with the artistic flair and suave production values of Poetry Circus – “one of the major players in the Edinburgh… Spoken Word Scene” – The Scotsman; Jennifer Ewan’s music plumbs the depths of the Cajun Blues genre and features new original songs plus her own unique arrangements of the classics.

Poetry Circus producer, Max Scratchmann, says : “Summer of Love is a new and bold juxtaposition of moody spoken word and down-and-dirty Cajun Blues music.

“At Poetry Circus we have always striven to add some theatre to the spoken word scene, and for this show our performers will be bringing their most heartfelt material to the stage, coupled with some truly amazing songs from Jen and the band…”

Poetry Circus are a critically-lauded spoken word theatre company who have been ranked in The List magazine’s Hot One Hundred ratings. “The highest standard and absolute quintessence of performance poetry” – Mumble Words.

Co-produced by Jennifer Ewan and Kim Tebble of the Jennifer Ewan Band – “A sassy cocktail of Cajun and modern sounds” Metro

Spoken Word Line-Up is as follows:

Rana Marathon – Acclaimed Perth rapper and host of Blend In – Stand Out
