Wrestlers get to grips for charity

Some of Scotland’s top wrestling stars are taking to the ring this weekend to raise money for charity.

The family-friendly event is being staged at the Crags Community Sports Centre in the Capital’s Bowmont Street on Saturday, 25 May 2019.

Among the grapplers stepping through the ropes will be Wolfgang, Sha Samuels, BT Gunn, Lionheart and Jack Jester.

Organised by local businesses Crafty Connoisseur and URM8 in conjunction with Wrestling Experience Scotland, the event will raise vital funds for Epilepsy Scotland, Edinburgh Dog & Cat Home and Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity.

Steve McKenzie, Managing Director of Crafty Connoisseur said: “We always like to try and help local charities and wanted to create an event that would benefit more than one. Scotland has so much talent out there and wrestling is a great way for the whole family to enjoy a night out.

“We chose the Crags Centre because it was very central and we wanted everyone to have easy access to the event. As a community centre, it seemed to fit with the event as this is something that families in all communities can come along to.

“This is the first time the centre has been used for such an event and the first time that Wrestling Experience Scotland, who are running the event, have hosted a show in Edinburgh.”

Doors will open at 6:15pm and the night should finish around 9:30pm. Tickets from £11.25 are currently on sale via Eventbrite.
