Division One (men): Grove Menzieshill 10, Grange 2; Dundee Wanderers 3, Clydesdale 3; Grange 3, Western Wildcats 2; Kelburne 4, Dundee Wanderers 4; Inverleith 1, Grove Menzieshill 7; Clydesdale 7, Dunfermline 4; Western Wildcats 6, Inverleith 3; Grove Menzieshill 9, Dundee Wanderers 1 (all at Dundee International Sports Centre).

Grove Menzieshill have taken over at the top of the Division One table after Inverleith (pictured winning the title last season) suffered back-to-back weekend defeats at the Dundee International Sports Centre.

Inverleith lost 7-1 to arch rivals Grove and 6-3 to Western Wildcats from Glasgow and Dundee-based Menzieshill top of the table by three points.

Wildcats are second on goal difference from champions Inverleith who drop down to third ahead of another Edinburgh club, Grange.

Patrick Christie was Inverleth’s only marksman in the defeat by Western, the Scottish international slotting from a penalty corner and David Odgen with two goals and Alex Wilson counted in the 6-3 defeat by Western.

Coach Stuart Neave said: “Unfortunately, we did not play well enough for 40 minutes in either game, therefore you cannot expect to win. However, it is good that we now have time to re-focus.”

Meanwhile, the final trial session for the Scotland men’s over 40s squad ahead of the Home Nations and European Championships is on Sunday, 3 February at Peffermill, Edinburgh from 13.00 to 16:00 (meet at 12:30).

Any Masters player aged between 39 to 44 on 1st Jan 2019 is welcome to trial and the Home Nations are from 17 to 19 May in Swansea with the European Championship from 22 to 31 July in Rotterdam.
