Dynamic Earth want visitors to design a dinosaur this half term. Whether yours is a colourful or camouflaged dinosaur they will have iPads ready for your youngsters to build their own personalised idea of what a dinosaur might have looked like.

You can then get a selfie with your dinosaur using mixed reality technology.

Activities run from Saturday 13 – 29 October 2018.

Operation Earth runs from 14-17 and 20 -21 October in a collaboration with the Natural Environment Research Council designed to allow young people to find out more about the changing planet and work being done by scientists.

You can also see a photography exhibition by Alex Ingle documenting work by scientists in Greenland.

The Festival of Physics follows from 26-28 October 2018.

There is a packed programme of events and during October you can upgrade your day ticket to an Annual Explorer pass for free.

As well as Designosaur and the programme of events, regular Dynamic Earth features include Scotland’s only permanent 4D cinema, the ever-popular real iceberg, a bone-shaking earthquake and the Deep Time Machine which takes visitors billions of years back in time.
