William Thomson a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society and author of The Book of Tides is leading a Tide Walk in Edinburgh on 3 August 2018.
The walk is designed for anyone who spends time along the coast and wants to boost their knowledge of the natural world. Topics include what makes tide, why currents flow along the shore and how to survive a rip. I’ve kept the content simple and engaging so the event appeals to all ages.
The walk starts at Portobello Kilns at 18:00 and finishes one mile down Portobello Beach around 19:30. Tickets are free for Under 12’s and £10 for adults, but there is a 2 for 1 deal which Edinburgh Reporter readers can claim with the code Walk2018 when they book the tickets at www.tidalcompass.com.
