The next Queensferry Care Coffee Morning will be held on 9 June 2018 at Queensferry Parish Church from 9am to 1.30pm. There will be a tombola stall and home baking.

SPOKES are holding their next public meeting on 13 June 2018 at 7.30pm at Augustine United Church George IV Bridge. The hashtag is #SpokesMtg

The meeting will discuss The Transformation Project for Edinburgh City Centre which aims to prioritise access for pedestrians, cyclists and public transport users in the city centre. There will also be information shared about the Glasgow City Connectivity Commission which seeks to get more people onto public transport, walking and cycling. Some of the discussion will explain what will happen to the cars.

Speakers will include Daisy Narayanan, Leader of the Edinburgh Transformation Project, Professor David Begg who is Leader of Glasgow Connectivity Commission and who is well-known in the capital as a former Transport Convener of Lothian Regional Council in the 1990s who banned cars from Princes Street,  and Council Leader Adam McVey who is a former Vice-Convener of Transport and Cycling Champion of The City of Edinburgh Council.

Doors open 6.45pm    

A tea dance will be held at 2.00pm on 5 June 2018 during Dementia Awareness Week at Gibson Craig Memorial Hall to raise funds for Dementia Friendly Pentlands. Do go along as there will be a live band, food with coffee tea and lots of laughter and dancing. All invited with donations at the door.

Remember that the Edinburgh Taxi Drivers’ Outing takes place on the second Tuesday in June as usual. Look out for the gaily decorated taxis which usually cause a bit of a stir going along Princes Street on their way to the beach in East Lothian for the day complete with their very special young passengers.
