Just to remind us that the Edinburgh International Magic Festival takes place from 11-19 May 2018 we were invited along to a party at The Boy Wizard on Victoria Street.
There Kevin Quantum was doing some levitation with cards and £20 notes…. yes we got it back! All of this was to give us a taste of the Wizard World Gathering which is a one-of-a-kind party celebrating all things witchcraft and wizardry.
This will be a sparkly new event at the ninth annual Edinburgh International Magic Festival, taking place in the Great Hall on Roxburgh Place which will be under a spell all weekend.
We drank some magically mixed gin “potions” from The Old Curiosity Distillery – brewed in Edinburgh’s own mysterious Secret Herb Garden – and we enjoyed the live magic shows.
Other delights at the event in May will include a costume competition, fantasy quiz, Fantastic Beats from DJ Gregarious, potions class, chocolate frogs and enchanted cakes from Suki Bakes, special brew from ALEchemy Brewery, hog roast, Diagon Alley style shops with magical books from Golden Hare books, official merchandise from the Boy Wizard shop plus many more magical surprises.
In the Gothic home of the boy wizard you will definitely experience something that will leave you speechless. Edinburgh is a city whose history is intertwined with magic and The International Magic Festival will pay homage to this history, celebrating magic as an art, one that belongs on stage, one that needs to be seen to be believed.
