Marc-Olivier Vallerand and Ben Lake both netted doubles as Coventry Blaze burned bottom club Edinburgh Capitals 7-2 in the Midlands.

Braehead Clan beat Sheffield Steelers 5-2 in Glasgow to edge closer to securing a slot in the end-of-season, play-offs.

Clan were 2-0 ahead after 31 minutes thanks to goals from Landon Oslanski and Brendan Brooks but Miika Franssila pulled one back four minutes later.

Craig Cescon made it 3-1 after 43 minutes but Eric Neiley claimed Steelers’ second 57 seconds later.

However, an unassisted strike from Craig Peacock with 1min 3sec left secured the points and Adam Brace netted with 47 seconds left to make sure.

And Fife Flyers were beaten 5-2 at Kirkcaldy by second-placed Manchester Storm after letting slip a 2-0 lead.

Chase Schaber and Jim Jorgensen gave the home side a perfect start with goals inside the first nine minutes.

But Storm then hit five without reply between the 24th and 59th minutes through a double from Mike Hammond and singles from Ciaran Long, Declan Balmer and Dallas Ehrhardt.
