Eight East of Scotland players are in the Scotland under-16 squad for three Test matches against the UK Lions this weekend.
Edinburgh Academy provide three players, David Macrae, Joel Davenport and Jake Inglis and the matches are on Friday (7pm) at Titwood, Saturday at 12.05pm and Sunday 12.30pm at Glasgow’s National Hockey Centre.
Chris Duncan, the head coach, said: “The boys have worked hard individually over the winter and look in great shape moving into this year’s international programme.
“It is great to have competitive games this early in the year as it has brought a lot of focus into our training in the build-up.
“We passed 17 players into the under-18 programme this year and we have a young but very promising group this year.”
