Asda’s Chesser store celebrated our National Bard in style yesterday.  They had a piper leading the haggis in before it was packaged up in a hamper to go to North Merchiston Care Home for their Burns Supper.

Everyone there will take part in the feast, but meantime shoppers enjoyed the skirl of the pipes as the young piper, Jamie Goodbrand of George Watson’s Pipe Band, entertained them with some traditional Scottish tunes.

Across town at Edinburgh Jewel they had another piper from Newtongrange Pipes and Drums, Sam Fleming, with Community Champion Marion Lewis addressing the haggis.
