Edinburgh Capitals, who anchor the Elite League table with only two points after 14 games, visit former league pace-setters Manchester Storm.
Capitals bosses have confirmed a re-structuring after a petition from Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs to wind up Capitals Hockey Limited was lodged at the Royal Courts of Justice in Belfast on Thursday.
One of the two directors, Matthew Tailford, resigned this week leaving one director, Scott Neil.
Meanwhile, Gabriel Levesque netted a key goal as Dundee Stars earned the scalp of Elite League champions Cardiff Devils in midweek.
The goal by the Canadian-born defenceman earned the Tayside team back-to-back wins for the first time this season and the Canadian marksman wants to add win No 3 when Stars travel to Glasgow tonight (7pm) to face Braehead Clan.
Levesque says the squad are in confident mood after recent successes.
And they travel with optimism despite the possibility of being under-strength again because of injuries to squad members.
Stars are second-bottom of the table and coach Omar Pacha is desperate to keep in touch with the pack.
Clan, who are third bottom, are equally eager to climb the 12-strong table and their coach, John Tripp, has received a vote of confidence from club chairman Neil Black.
He believes the Canadian is the right man to take the club forward and assured the fans that he has high ambitions for the club.
Black said: “We play in the biggest city in the Elite League and the growth has been phenomenal over the past eight seasons.”
Commenting on the club’s current lowly position, Tripp said: “You have to take the start of the season into context.
“We have only played 15 games, five at home and ten away.
“When you compare that to 2015/16, after 15 games the records were almost identical. Once we get some momentum going we will start to see the team climb the league.
I’ve been very impressed with John. He is very professional and we like the character he brings to the organisation. We’re excited with what is in store for the future.”
