After dispensing with the services of Head Coach Ian Cathro on Tuesday, Hearts have announced that coach Jon Daly will take charge of first-team matters on an interim arrangement until the appointment of a new Head Coach is made on a permanent basis.

The former Dundee United striker will be assisted by Assistant Head Coach Austin MacPhee and first-team coach Liam Fox and will prepare the team for Saturday’s opening Ladbrokes Premiership game at Celtic.

Meanwhile, former Hearts manager Paulo Sergio has declared an interest in returning to Tynecastle and has had reportedly sent his cv to Hearts owner Ann Budge for consideration. Sergio was, of course, Hearts manager when they hammered Hibernian 5-1 in the Scottish Cup final of 2012.
