How far would you go to fit in? What happens when you deny something that defines you? In this deeply personal show, Comedian Rik Carranza revisits a past that forces him to choose between embracing his passions or bowing to the expectations of others.

In this show of trekkies, bullies, and borg-esque football fanatatics, Rik Carranza explores his own journey of trying to make the right decisions, trying to grow up, and figure out when is the best moment to show someone your Star Trek Technical Manual in his new solo comedy show, Rik Carranza: I’m a Fan.

Taking on the Edinburgh Festival Fringe for it’s world premiere, Rik Carranza: I’m a Fan is the raw and honest story of Carranza’s life and his struggles to fit in and be happy at the same time.

Carranza looks back at the highs and the lows and how Star Trek was there the whole way – even when he was pretending to be the go to funny ‘guitar guy’, before finally accepting himself for who he really is… a fan of Star Trek.

This is a story about love, this is a story about life and death, but mostly, this is a story about one of Star Trek’s biggest fans.
