South Queensferry campaigners have received a cash boost as they bid to clean up an area of waste ground.
The Greenferry Trust’s Hawthorn Bank Community Garden Group has already carried out landscaping and structural work behind the town’s High Street.
And the area is on its way to becoming a community garden.
Hawthorn Bank sits across the road from a nursery and children are learning about nature and the environment.
And the money from property managers Ross and Liddell will be used to remove old tarmac, rubble and weeds.
The 12-year-old community group would eventually like the space to be used as an open-air theatre and activity area for people of all ages.
Juliette Lee, the group’s chairwoman, said: “We’re passionate about the area and we hated seeing this fantastic piece of ground, which has so much potential, go to waste.
“The first phase of the transformation is already complete but this is about so much more than revamping this one piece of ground and the immediate vicinity.
“It is a project that will show what can be done when a community joins together and stays focused.”
