World League semi-final; ninth and tenth place play-off: Korea 6, Scotland 3 (at Lee Valley, London).

Scotland men finished tenth in the World League semi-finals in London after losing 6-3 to Korea in their final game in London.

Coach Derek Forsyth’s squad were undone by the clinical finishing of Korea at Lee Valley despite opening the scoring from close range after three minutes from Tim Atkins.

Eight minutes later Korea were level and three minutes after that they were 2-1 ahead.

The Koreans punished Scotland from a second penalty corner minutes later to go 3-1 in front but Scotland had chances.

Sadly, Alan Forsyth, Gordon McIntyre and Kenny Bain were unable to convert, their Achilles heel in this tournament.

Korea moved to a 6-1 lead but Scotland were rewarded for their efforts when Holland-based Bain pulled one back with six minutes remaining.

And the former Kelburne star claimed a second a minute remaining to make a final score of 6-3.
