Edinburgh City have announced that Jim Brown has been appointed as Chairman of the Ladbrokes League Two club.
Brown (56) joined the City board last year as Finance Director. He expressed his delight at his appointment in a statement published on City’s official website.
“I’m delighted and very honoured to accept this position. I’m extremely grateful to Jim Lumsden for all his hard work over the past four years during which time, of course, the club won two Lowland League titles and achieved a historic promotion to the Scottish Professional Football League”
City have also announced that striker Craig Beattie has signed a new one year deal, extending his current contract until summer 2018. The former Scotland, Celtic and Hearts striker joined City at the beginning of season 2016/17 and his experience was an important factor in the club finishing in seventh place in League Two, thereby retaining their hard-earned league status.
Beattie will also take on coaching duties next season as Edinburgh City look to make further progress at their new temporary home of Ainslie Park, home of rivals Spartans.
