First team squad players Chris Humphrey and Alex Harris both played for the Hibernian Development Squad in their  2-1 victory over reigning SPFL Development League Champions Celtic yesterday.

Oli Shaw gave Hibs the lead in the fourth minute before Jack Aitchison levelled the scores midway through the second half.

Fraser Murray ensured that Grant Murray’s men secured all three points with a superb strike with eight minutes remaining.

After the game, Grant Murray said: “I’m absolutely thrilled – obviously the performance was a massive plus today. The result is important for the lads, especially after Thursday, going through there and not really giving a good account of ourselves.

“We got better last week in the second half, but today, it was night and day in terms of the performance. Right from the kick-off today, even in the warm up, you could sense that the boys were desperate for revenge and to put things right, both collectively and as individuals.

“I thought we probably deserved to score more today. We got into good areas, whether it was down to poor finishing, or poor decision making, it wasn’t to be.

“We struggled last week, but today we looked strong, we looked physical and we also looked the dominant team. Don’t get me wrong, Celtic have some very good players, but I thought we handled them well today.”
