Edinburgh based Cyrenians have told us about their latest partnership with the St Martin-in-the-Fields charity.

They are teaming up with the St Martin’s Frontline Network to bring together those working on the frontline to tackle homelessness in the capital. The idea is to give everyone a space for mutual support and share examples of best practice.

They held an event recently to get an introduction to St Martin’s and find out how this will work. They carried out a variety of activities to share ideas, get introduced to new tools to support collaboration between the charities and discuss what they will do next.

They also discussed lone working and staff wellbeing promoting calls for this scheme to involve more workers dealing with homelessness.

Ewan Aitken, Cyrenians Chief Executive said: “We’re proud to be part of such an innovative new project.  Professional networks can have impact as well as providing support, and those tackling homelessness in Edinburgh deserve a space for that to happen.”

Natalie King, Network Development Manager at St Martins said: “For our first network event in Scotland, we were delighted that Cyrenians were able to attract such a broad range of experience from so many organisations.”

The Network is planning more activity in the coming weeks and anyone interested in getting involved should contact maddykirkman@cyrenians.scot or visit http://www.frontlinenetwork.org.uk/
